What to expect

You are really welcome to join us at one of our Sunday services. We want our church to be a place where everyone feels at home even if its your first time coming! That means that we’ll explain what is happening as we go, and we won’t expect you to join in with anything you don’t want to.

A typical Sunday morning looks like this:

10.45 – Drinks are served
We serve drinks before the service begins so that everyone can come and have a chat over a cuppa before sitting down at tables ready for the service to begin.

11:00 – The service starts
A leader welcomes everyone and explains what will be happening. The first 20 minutes or so of the service is designed for all the family, we sing and pray and there is often a song or story especially for the kids.

11:20 – Children go out to groups, the rest of us stay in the service
Our Creche & Tots group (0-4’s) and Junior Church (4-11’s) go out every week, and we also run a Youth Lifegroup (11-14’s) every other week. All of our groups are run by DBS checked volunteers.

In the second part of the service we read from the Bible and someone helps to explain what it is all about. We also sing more songs and pray to help us respond to what we have heard. We also have Communion each week, which is something that Jesus told his followers to do. At Beechwood anyone who is a Christian is welcome to join in with Communion.

12:20 – The service ends
Drinks, toast and other snacks are served when the service ends, and the children all come back to join us. The time after the service is a great chance to get to know people a little better, and to ask any questions that you have about the church or what you’ve heard.
